As I mentioned in my last post, I recently participated in The Conference Board’s Social Media Strategies for HR (SM4HR) Seminars in New York City. And as fate would have it, a number of other members of the SMinOrgs Community were there as well - some as presenters, some as attendees. I had hoped to get a group photo of all of us, but the best I could manage was this photo of some of us as we were leaving on Tuesday. Here's who's in the shot, from left to right:
- Elizabeth Lupfer
- Victorio Milian
- Mystery woman (not a member - yet)
- Steve Boese
- Jennifer McClure
- Yours truly
- Christine Hess
- April Ozcan (not a member - yet)
- CV Harquail
Other SMinOrgs members who participated include:
It was a great event overall, with high-quality presentations and lots of rich content. The thing I liked best, though, was the growing synergy I sensed. Clear thought leaders and champions have emerged, and there's a strong feeling of camaraderie and mutual support. We're still in the very early days of recognizing the impact of new digital technologies in organizations - and particularly in understanding the leadership role that HR professionals can and should take - but the clarion call is getting louder.
We live in exciting times...

PS - I just created a board called SMinOrgs Photos on our Pinterest page. I'm looking forward to adding more photos from future events!
